Bluetooth, as we all know, is famously used for transferring data from one device to another. Did you know that the origin of the world 'Bluetooth' was inspired by a Medieval king back in 958 and 970?

A group of engineers at Ericsson, a Swedish company, invented a wireless communication technology in 1994, later called Bluetooth.
The name "Bluetooth" comes from the 10th century Danish King Harald Blåtand or Harold Bluetooth in English.
Ancient theories about the derivation of the name:
1 Some say that Harald Blåtand or (Harold Bluetooth in English) was once eating blueberries and his teeth got stained, so that's how they came up the name 'Bluetooth'. Well, it doesn't seems relevant to me.
2. Another theory says that Harald Blåtand helped to unite the countries which are now called Norway, Sweden, and Denmark which leads us to the next image.

To pay tribute to his contribution, the engineers combined the initials of his name.
Look at the image. The letters 'H' and 'B' when converted in Runic and hence combined, gave us the origin of the symbol called 'Bluetooth'.

Similarly, Bluetooth technology was created to allow connectivity and collaboration between different devices.
Interestingly, Bluetooth is a combination of hardware and software both.
Hardware, as in a small chip; software as you need Bluetooth connectivity to pair with the devices.
